The ouruboros or “tail-devouring snake” is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. This a very colorful version of that snake, so I’ve named it, aptly “The Colouroboros.”
The ouroboros entered western tradition via Greece and was adopted as a symbol in Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and most notably in alchemy. Symbolizing introspection, the eternal return and specifically the sense of something constantly re-creating itself – it also represents the infinite cycle of nature’s endless creation and destruction, life and death. What a colorful wild world, this life is, Yes? (and also No.). If you are feeling called to create, re-create, to let some old habit or tendency go – or simply looking for the gold inside of you at the end of the rainbow (also inside of you) THIS is definitely the print for you…and is sure to be later on as well, when it comes circling back around again.
