Lavender Folk Flora

Lavender is floral plant that is actually part of the mint family. The English word “Lavender” is generally believed to be derived from the Latin word: “lavare” meaning “to wash.” It is then no wonder that Lavender’s soothing and relaxing properties have also been used in bathwater, soaps, beauty and skin products, essential oils, teas and my personal favorite: chocolate. Lavender is a natural nurturer. She is plant goddess known for her ability to enkindle beauty, heal wounds and provide emotional support . Lavender is also associated with the throat chakra and communication, helping us to speak our truth, communicate with others and perhaps most importantly, learn to listen.
