Juniper Berry Folk Flora

Juniper with its fragrant wood, moist needles and plump blue berries is said to have the protective power to ward off evil, dispelling negative energies, entities and illnesses. As such, Juniper is often used as an incense to fumigate spaces and purify the air within them. It is also considered a guardian of the threshold between this world and the next, and is used in rites of passage, shamanic journeys and for communing with the spirit of nature.
